International festival in honor of Gustav Mahler, Leipzig

At the age of 26 years, In 1886, Gustav Mahler became the second master chaplain Leipziger Stadttheater, alongside the legendary Arthur Nikisch. Shows "Via Regia", Görlitz

from 21 May 31 October 2011 will take place in Görlitz the third edition of the inter-Sächsische Landesausstellung "Via Regia - 800 Annual motion and meeting ". Through 5 themes, the exhibition aims to tell one of the main shopping streets of the Middle Ages, that stretched for more than 4.500 Km, from Santiago de Compostela in Spain to Kiev in Ukraine.

Bach Festival, Leipzig

Many of the programs Leipziger Bachfeste, the festivities in honor of Bach in Leipzig. in 2011 will celebrate two key figures of the musical heritage, Franz Liszt, 200th anniversary of whose birth marks the 22 October, e Gustav Mahler, morto100 years ago in Vienna, exactly 18 May 1911. Women's World Cup

The final whistle of the 6th World Championship women's soccer team will take place in the country sample, Germany. Dresden is one of the cities hosting the games. 850 years of viticulture in Saxony

175 years of steamboats in Saxony

The best and certainly the most relaxing ways to discover the Saxon wine is to take a cruise on one of the historic steamboat wheel. The company that manages them, la Saxon Dampfschiffahrsgesellschaft, celebrating its 175th anniversary, and establishing itself as the oldest fleet of paddle-wheel steamboats in the world. On the boat "Diesbar" is in action 1886 the oldest and still operating steam engine for boats, dating back to 1841. The season opens May 1 with a grand parade of the fleet by the roadside of Dresden to Pillnitz. In early July will start the actual birthday party, while the third weekend of August to coincide with the celebration of the city of Dresden, will take place on the feast of the steamboat "Dresdner Dampfschifffest".
