At Rome Bioparco came a new host: Asioka

alRome Bioparco there's a new host. It's called Asioka and is a male 11 years of Asiatic lion, from Chester Zoo, England. He arrived at the Bioparco in late February and is adapting to his new area. It is a species considered then danger according to the criteria of the World Union for Conservation of Nature.

Asioka soon will live with the female Asiatic lion, Jade (Jackie). The lioness, from the Czech Republic, arrived at the Bioparco in June 2006 and in recent years has shared the area with two other Asian lions. It is hoped that the two sparks of love, for the males prior to Asioka, unfortunately, had problems resulting from birth between males and females related.
