On the occasion of the sesquicentennial anniversary of the Unification of Italy, the National Chamber of Italian Fashion (Cnmi) has issued a challenge to all the best designers and asked them to reinterpret the tricolor. The challenge was accepted by twenty-four of the most famous Italian fashion house who have exhibited their works of art tailored to exhibition "Homage to the tricolor" inaugurated 3 Last November, the Victorian.
The exhibition is divided into three sections:
The first section "Routes history"Testify to the origins and evolution of our flag documents and artifacts from the Museo Centrale del Risorgimento in Rome.
The second section is devoted to Coffins Flag displaying the flags of the Navy Combat - kept in precious reliquaries - that belonged to the naval units, no longer in service, and, by 1861 To date, have been used in peace as in war on all the seas of the world.
The third sectionExpressions of style on the Italian flag”, produced in collaboration with the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, offers 24 interpretations of the flag, designed and created by top Italian designers.
The show was created by the collaboration of the Institute for the History of the Italian Risorgimento - Museo Centrale del Risorgimento and the Historical Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The scientific coordination has been edited by Mark Pizzo in collaboration with Emmanuel Martinez, and overall coordination of Alessandro Nicosia.
The exhibition 'Homage to the Tricolor' is open until 6 January 2011 daily from 9.30 all 18.30. Free admission.
